We start this forecast with the biggest news of the week astrologically, regardless of your interest in love and romance. On Thursday, Mercury turns retrograde and stays that way until July 12th. Yes, I warned you about this before. Also, just like you, I did very little to prepare for it. Funny how that always happens, isn’t it? So as always I offer you the same advice that you and I both have a 50-50 chance of following: check your proofreading, make sure you are sending that email to the right person, and try not to sign up for any agreements you don’t absolutely have to.
Having said that, let’s talk about sex. Lots of sexy, sexy sex. We have now moved into the domain of Mars. Mars makes two major aspects this week, but because Mars is a relatively slow planet, both those aspects cover the entire week and next week, even though they happen towards the weekend.
On Thursday, Mars sextile Pluto is exact. In general terms, this is an excellent time for facing down big tasks or big issues that you may have avoided of late. Pluto lends an added boost to any planet it aspects, and the sextile is one of those aspects that’s relatively easy to handle. Think of it as having a thoroughly trained attack dog that is completely loyal and obedient to you. That’s a good thing, but it’s still up to you as to what (or who) it bites. In relationship terms, this can relate both to dealing with interpersonal obstacles or putting a little extra oomph in your sex life.
The same applies to Mars sextile Jupiter, which is exact on Saturday. This aspect also lends extra energy and enthusiasm to your activities. I don’t know about you, but me? I have a serious case of quarantine body going on right now. That’s right — now is the time to do more exercise. At least if you are in a relationship, exercise can manifest itself in a form that produces sweating but fewer joint aches.
The elephant in the room, astrologically speaking this week, is the Solar Eclipse on June 21st. This happens very shortly after the Sun enters Cancer. The emotional sensitivity of Cancer season can be a minefield for many, but kicking it off with a Solar Eclipse at the very first degree of that sign? That could serve to make this Sunday a particularly emotionally touchy or difficult time for many. In general, the effects of an Eclipse last well beyond the day it happens. Have a look at your birth chart and see if there are any placements close to the very first degree of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn). You can expect some surprises around matters pertaining to those placements in the next few months.
If not? You’ve still been warned about Mercury retrograde. Come back and thank me for the warning later when you go ahead and screw up that contract anyway.
